This was a fun and satirical project when I was working at Transglobal Inc. One of their main products was Christmas gift bags and wrapping paper. Santa Claus was an everyday thing for me, so making this painting, based on Francis Bacon's study of Velasquez's portrait of Pope Innocent X, was a dark, humorous take.
