DXDI 101 Bike Edmonton website redesign, home page, two interior pages

My first, practical foray into UX/UI design, this a course project in redesigning a website with one or two interior pages.

This re-design was based on three user-testing interviews, highlight some of the issues with the original and actual website. One major issue was the value-proposition of the website and the organization, which was unclear. It had the impression that it was a bike shop. Bike Edmonton is more than a bike shop, but a community-focused, advocacy group, offering workshops, information (such as bike routes and laws and regulations), and a voice to the city of Edmonton. The users, who never been to the site before, thought it was site to find bike routes, but had an impression it was a bike shop.

So one of the solutions, was to re-structure the information structure, highlighting information leading to finding bike routes or to find out who they are. Replacing the call to action and hinting one of their core values on the hero image made a big difference. I've also restructured the site map to organize their services under one overall header.
